Default Robots (2005) on Blu ??

Just finished watching the Robots animaiton on TV. And I forgot how good this movie was...

Does anyone know if 20th Century Fox has plans to release this to Blu anytime soon? I've always thought It was well done and a fun movie. Lots of great scenes in this one for some decent LFE action! I'd like to pick this up (DVD if nothing else is available) but i'd hold out for the Blu if something was in the works!

Any info ?

My friend, your question has an answer and that answer is YES. It just appeared on East Europe if you want to import.
It is a great animation indeed. Here are some links:

Any links to that one ?

Also, if its out in Europe does it mean we "should" see it pop up in our necks of the woods anytime soon?

It's coming out this week in the Netherlands. It's released by Fox so I'm pretty sure it will be region looked.

I liked this movie, but why did Dreamworks tell Ewen McGregor to do an American accent, he's British, and it just doesn't feel like it's Ewen voicing Rodney, it could have been any American actor. It was good, but the most appealing part of the movie (Mr McGregor) spoilt it for me sorry, probably won't be buying this on Blu-ray.

wasn't a Dreamworks movie, it was produced by BlueSky Studios, distributed by 20th Century Fox.

My take on that is, when you're watching the movie it's not supposed to "feel" like Ewan McGregor, it's supposed to feel like you are watching Rodney Copperbottom do his thing. I assume Chris Wedge liked the quality of the voice or they wouldn't have done it that way...

Dreamworks has nothing to do with this movie. Blue Sky, who did the Ice Age films, is the production company and Fox is the distributor.

just got mine this morning and am feeling very disappointed...has very little of that "pop" you associate with animation and no dts-HD even though it says so on the disc and on the box...there's another thread on here somewhere where someone has highlighted issues with the video quality and I agree...I don't know the technical term but there seems to be what looks like interference, jaggies, in the picture. Certain objects seem to be all grainy- like there are loads of tiny particles moving in them....
This is a huge let down- thats just my opinion...I truly expected this disc to be reference quality. I got more of a 'wow' from the dvd when it was initially released.
Proceed with caution!

Arf, too bad, was really interested in having it since it was released in region B ... but if a US release is coming, just hope it won't be the same thing (and region free too ^^).

Thank you for your review

That sucks... I was in a little rut recently and couldn't go through with my order... I was about to place it today and noticed this post.

Hey Dubliner, any chance you can grab a few screen shots ?
