India/Bollywood Moserbaer Controversy

Okay, now we so upset with Moserbaer's recent Blu product.
Some is hoax, some is flaw.
I hope somebody report this thread to Moserbaer (yup! yup!)

There are references. If you don't know what happened, get some info.

I am posting on this thread to address the problems of all the Moser Baer blu rays. I had written in to the company about the below par quality of the newly released blu rays. Was pleasantly surprised when the company immidiately wrote back . After that the company even called me up to apologize and look into the matter ( they even talked of a refund which I am not taking too seriously). The two relevant email ids ( atleast these were the addresses mentioned on my mail) seem to be jeevan.chand@moserbaer.in and anuja.srinivasan@moserbaer.in.

hence would request all of you to write in to these two ids so that the problem is brought to the notice of the relevant people in Moser Baer

I have too written to MB regarding there BDs. Got a call from them, and as Harvey said earlier, they offered me a refund too. Had a long talk with them. They have promised to swith over to another authoring house, and have ensured that further titles will be dealt with seriousness. I hope some positive action from their side.

Why doesn't Moserbear use Sunny (who works on Ayngaran blu-ray) or AP International? They seem to produce decent Indian blu-ray discs.

As per the information I have, the authoring for the catalog titles was done in house. After they received lots of negative feedback ragrding those titles, they had approached a few outside authoring companies for future titles. But supposedly, atleast one authoring house refused their work due to the low prices they were offering to pay. I am not sure who authored 'Rann'.

That would be a great idea. But if not, then Mr. Chandana's company might be a good alternate. They have done a pretty good job with Ghajini.

I got a reply from anuja from Moserbaer and this is what he said:

"Thank you for writing to us and we regret for the inconvenience caused due to the quality issue of Moserbaer Blu Ray. We have indentified the technical problem and have stopped selling Blu Ray till further communications by us.

We have also withdrawn all the stocks from the Market and customers are been refunded at the point of sale if any purchases done."

Am hoping they will find a decent authoring house and re author these 4 blu rays as i was really looking forward to Race & Fashion!

I am glad that this has happenned. Its strangely odd that we are normally forced to accept below quality discs and pay the full price. Kudo's to all who got this started, we as customers should voice our concerns, and i'm glad its not falling on deaf ears. We have experts on this thread, and thats why i like reading the comments. Its a sort of guide of what i should buy and what i should avoid. I will be sending MB my two cents as well.

If MB is taking this step to acknowledge their authoring issues this a great sign and top of that they are offering refund. I wish Yash Raj to refund me Dhoom 2.Silsila and Veer Zaara and reauthor them again.

I have two suggestions at this point

1. People who are writing to MB or who have already written can suggest some authoring houses who generate quality discs. They don't have to say yes, but it will give them an opportunity to look for alternatives and if they are trying to make quality releases they will know that customers have liked authoring from some specific authoring houses and are pleased with the quality.

2. This is more for Bollywoodbluray and other forum sponsors who represent distributors or who contributes to the blu ray revolution for bollywood. My suggestion to you guys is - please invite one technical / quality control representative from each studio to this forum so that they can come and share and also learn about the expectations from customers.

I am sure if they join here and this is done in good spirit, we can help each other and understand each other.

They have removed the Blu Ray buying option from their website now. This is Impressive!

This is perhaps the first time something like this has happened in India I guess...others need to follow.

So this means we can send back any of these blurays even if we already opened the case and get refunded back for it ?

I have talked and suggested some other Authoring houses. Have adviced them to refer to other BDs. Also, have asked them to send one representative, here, to get constructive feedback.

I suppose MoserBear's acknowledgement of poor quality, vindicates my stand regarding their BD releases. My belief, that we can bring about change, by speaking out against poor quality and not just quietly accepting it as before, also seems to have come true atleast in the case of Yash Raj and now with MoserBaer.

Got a mail from Moser Baer that they are refunding all blu ray purchases . You only need to carry the product to your point of purchase.
