I sure as hell hope these screenshots are not a true reflection of the quality of the actual BD. For these, quite honestly are worse than a good quality DVD. The same goes for the screenshots of 'Race' and 'A Wednesday'. I suppose I should wait to see the actual BDs before passing final judgement. But, these screenshots surely do not look promising.

I don't know what monitor you're using to watch those screenshots so I don't know where you get that idea, but those screenshots, quite honestly are in high definition and not "worse than a good quality DVD", in fact they look better than many BDs I have.

I don't typically rely on screenshots only to judge the quality of a BD release, but this particular shot (see below), sans some mild noise, looks very good.

I don't understand on thing - Hollywood movies are of shorter duration & utilise full 50 GB whereas Bollywood movies, longer duration & still using less than half the space. And what is that Audio standard - 320 kbps?

I am watching the screenshots on a 'Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP-HC (24-inch) LCD Monitor'. The monitor was quite highly rated at the time I bought it in October 2007. Thus, I don't think it's the monitor, but rather a difference of opinion here, that explains such a diametrically varied opinion of the same screenshots.

I did not mean to imply that the screenshots are not in High Definition. But as we all know it takes a lot more than just resolution to make a good picture. Also, I did not state that these are the worst screenshots I have ever seen. For, I have seen far worse, but that still does not make these good.
As stated in my earlier post, I prefer to reserve final judgement until I get to see the actual BD. But even then, and as much as I try not to form opinions based on screenshots, it is hard for me to imagine a very good BD, atleast from what I see here. I have seen all the films in question here at a pretty good theater and I promise you, those screenshots look nothing like the actual films. At least to me, the picture looks very dull and drab with a heavy dose of DNR at play. From what I remember of the movie 'Fashion' and I am sure others who have seen it will concur, that the film was very colorful and vibrant, as is typical of most bollywood films. There are other problems I see with the screenshots, but I shall reserve comments on that, until after seeing the actual BD.

In any case, we shall soon know what the actual BDs look like and I sincerely hope I am wrong and the BDs turn out to be great. But I am sure even you will agree, that it is almost impossible to imagine a good BD, with the following, very DVD like or shall I say, for some specs. even lower than DVD, specifications:

From the 3 MB film screenshots, Fashion looks best the other two looks heavily DNRed. What a shame...

I think the discussion on screenshot will take us nowhere. It depends on many factors incuding but not limited to the software being used and its configuration, monitor in use etc.

From the posted screenshots, it appears that the blacks are crushed and clipped slightly loosing detail - could be the software used (I have seen VLC does that with certain config and file types)

However to me, all shots look better than DVD and Fashion looks like a good transfer.

Are you referring to DVDs in general or the MoserBaer 'Fashion' DVD. For if it's the latter, then that would not be much of an achievement anyhow.

On a slightly lighter note, upon seeing these screenshots, my 8 yr old son remarked, "Where are the colors? This is worse than even 'Veer Zaara'."

Did MB redo this yet? I liked this movie, but I definitely don't want it in crap quality...

Okay, so do we have any feedback on the re-release NOW? Screenshots? Anything?
