UK EIV Blu-ray August 07

Entertainment in Video have announced their support for the Blu-ray Disc high definition format with the release of seven blockbuster titles on 13th August 2007. Priced at £24.99 each is a collection of titles that include some already available in other regions: The Departed, Phantom of the Opera and Million Dollar Baby, others that are exclusive to HD DVD in other regions: Brokeback Mountain and Lucky Number Slevin and finally those which are all-new to high definition: Gangs of New York and The Crow.

At this point in terms of tech specs we only know that you can expect 1080P Widescreen transfers on the main features and all extras in standard definition. Extras are detailed below…

et cetera, all amazingly timed in the movie.

Let's hope these are all region free. I'd definitely get The Crow, Gangs of New York and Lucky # Slevin.

dont EIV have Blade in their camp as well? would be great addition to Blue Ray.. that and the Matrix were the two first dvds i owned..

Oh, and maybe they can treat us with a BD50 for the Phantom and give us some uncompressed PCM? I haven't bought the US Warner version yet, so let's hear it!

As for Blade, they could well have UK rights but since New Line Cinema are starting to bring out the titles now it should'nt be too far off anyway. Just gotta hope they're going to be region free.

Does this have DTS-HD HR or DTS-HD MA ?

The DTS track is getting bitstreamed @768 Kbps.

I couldn't find any reviews of this disc. However on DVDcompare.net it is stated as DTS HD MA.

Thanks but the audio is bitstream @ 768 Kbps. So either it's core part in the master audio is encoded at a lower bit rate or the audio format itself is legacy DTS. Need to check once the PS3 gets DTS-HD upgrade.

Lucky Number Slevin - DTS-HD MA 16-bit. HD DVD version has DD+ track @1.5 Mbps.
Next- DTS-HD HR @2 Mbps. HD DVD version has 24-bit True HD track @3.2 Mbps.
