Default BD Recorders in the US with HDMI in & out?

Any one have any idea when we MIGHT see a BD Recorder in the US with HDMI in & out connections?

It might be a very long time before we see a recorder with HDMI in.

You might see a recorder with CableCard or DIRECTV receiver included... HDMI in would require a high quality encoder... not to mention the copy protection issues it would create...

Yeah, they could do it but they'd have to remove the keys to pass HDCP so anything encrypted wouldn't record. Almost like a pass-thru.
