SIXAXIS controller problem?

when i first brought my ps3 and press the ps button it would come on and of course being bluetooth connect with the ps3 and one red light will stay on the top of the pad.

but recently it just would not connect and the red light on my controller would just keep flashing(i've checked it for charging numerous times the display icon says it is fully charged) and i have to connect the controller via the usb then it would just stop flashing and one red light will appear like it supposed to do when turned on, and it is really starting to piss me off when i keep having to connet to the usb cable.

if anyone knows what the problem is pls could you tell me is it just faulty and in that case i need to contact sony to get a replacement. thanks a lot.

is the power switch on the back of the unit being flipped? i seem to remember whenever there was a complete power down of my system that i would have to reconnect...

however, i also seem to remember this changing a bit with one of the firmwares

It sounds like it is searching for a different bluetooth signal. I have to re-synch mine when I go to my buddies house to play games. Just a thought. It's odd for sure.

It's a longshot but have you tried powering down the PS3 completely with the switch on the back, then leave it off for a few minutes.

The biggest occurence of this scenario occurs if you turn the PS3 off with the console power button instead of the controller PS button WHILE THE CONTROLLER IS STILL ON. To keep everything smooth and in communication, leave the switch on the back of the unit to the 'ON' position and ALWAYS USE THE REMOTE TO POWER THE SYSTEM ON AND OFF. I remember freaking out the first time it happened to me too. When I figured it out I thought, "Well, that was stupid of me to do in the first place. Why did I walk all the way over to the system when I had the ability to get the same result while remaining comfortable on my leather sofa?"

thanks for the feedback guys i try to do the things you said and hopefully it will be fine. pilam69 i am quite interested in what you said about it trying to find another bluetooth signali intially thought it was doing that, how do you re-synch it? thanks.

try to do the same way when you first turn on your ps3. connect sixaxis with usb, and press ps button

I had to send my controler back to sony 2 weeks ago and the day after it was sent they had received it and i have yet to get it back and another thing they dont track any of the equiptment. so they cant even tell me where its at or when ill get it back..............sony sucks as far as replacement..

i try everything you guys have said and it will not work so i brought new a another sixaxis controller fully charged and the same shit happens to that the light keeps flashing and it wont connect by bluetooth to the ps3 without the usb, could there something wrong with my ps3 instead? some help or advice could really be appreciated guys im sorry if im pestering you with this but i would like to get it sorted. thanks

i wonder why when i play ps1 and ps2 games the controller disconnects and then i have to press the PS button so it can have its signal and also when i play the ps1 game or ps2 game it disconnects the controller again after i pressed the PS button to quit the game and when i was playing one of my new games i just recently bought that was a ps2 game my character froze but not the opponent so needless to say i lost the fight just because my character stood still no matter what button i pressed while my character was getting its ass beat even when the opponent was on the opposite side of the tv screen
