I got my friend to buy a Blu-ray player - Blu-ray Forum

He was buying a Pioneer Elite PRO-1540HD and he was just gonna use a regular DVD player. Then I explained about Blu-ray and he was about to buy a Blu-ray player along with an upconvert player. I set him straight though. Man the only person who would plug a DVD player into a Pioneer Elite PRO-1540HD is the sucker who has enough money to buy it.

Should have tried to nudge him up to a 1080 HD set as well.

60" is too nice of size to not have 1080.

I got 2 co-workers to order the 40gb PS3 from sonystyle.

I also convinced one of my co-workers to get the PS3 40GB. And this guy actually had the 60GB version about 6 months ago, but he was not happy with the game selection at the time and got rid of it soon after he got it. He didn't realize the unit's full potential back then. I doubt he'll do the same with this one.
I've been buzzing in his ears about Blu-ray in general the whole week, so he finally cracked. It was worth the effort to convert another.
