Default Which Blu-ray player to buy

I want to get a Blu-ray player and I was looking for suggestions. I want a stand alone for my home theatre. I am not so concerned about price as I am about features and if the machine has a future.

Do you want bitstreaming or internal decoding?

HDMI or analog outputs, 5.1 or 7.1?

7.1 and HDMI

Which is better? Bitstreaming or codecs?

This is kind of info I am looking for. I want to make the best decision possible when the time comes.

Depends upon what receiver you have doing the processing and if it will handle the DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD better than the player.

On that note what receiver, if any, will this be hooked up to?

Considering you asked which machine would have a future that is currently out, I would have to go with the PS3. You can search for the PS3 review thread to know more details about it. I can say from personal experience that its a very good piece of home theater equipment.

I have an onkyo 606 and i bistreaming all audio formats from my sony s350.

Here my question to the decoding of Dolby true Hd , wich is the best option leave the s350 to do it or bistream it to the onkyo 606 and let it to do the decoding??????

I'd let the Onkyo handle the decoding rather than sony.

That is another point. I am going to upgrade my receiver as well. Perhaps this is a chicken/egg thing as to which one to get first.

If you spend money on a reciever then you can get any player that will bitstream the codecs over hdmi, which currently outnumbers the number of players that will internally decode both codecs. Also, a better reciever will be able to improve the sound quality of your other compenents and can upscale the video through the hmdi output.

Another consideration is seperates, which will do as good or better job than a reciever interms of the decoding/upscaling but also provide more consistent and powerful output to the speakers.
