What is the better track on this BD? DTHD or PCM?

I prefer PCM 5.1 to TrueHD 5.1. I compared them both on this and 300 BD, and I preferred PCM 5.1 in both cases. By the way, if your setup for all the HD audio stuff, listen to the scene towards the end of Spiderman3..the scene with the Venom final fight. The cage of poles he imprisons Venom in .....the tuning fork type aural soundwave he uses to remove the creature...it sounds AWESOME in my house! Totally resonates and sounds gorgeous. I love that scene. Awesome in audio and video!

Since you have a PS3 it will most likely be the PCM track. Those that have a player that can send the TrueHD track will pick it for the most part. Or that is how things are ending up now.

"300" was 16/48 on both PCM and TrueHD.

Spidey 3 the TrueHD is 24/48 while the PCM is 16/48

What was the original soundtrack: 16 or 24? If it was 24, it's possible that the Dolby TrueHD could sound better (as long as the dialog normalization doesn't mess up the fidelity to the source).

I think you will find many here that have the capabilities to listen to the TrueHD track that will say it sounds better. And I am one of them.

No, people say that it MIGHT sound better if passed bitstream and your receiver decodes it. I say it will sound the same and it is simply unzipping the audio if you will.

BTW, the PS3 decodes TrueHD and passes it as pcm just fine.
