At the moment, just be glad BCI's now officially on the Blu team--
Does this mean He-Man and She-Ra in 1080 pretty soon?

Sonny Chiba is the F'n man his movies are great. Now if they would put out The Bride With White Hair that's another great flick as well. As the other person said as well if the rest of the Bruce Lee movies would come out as well that would be awesome!!
Mischa.

I've never seen any of these but since Tarentino recommends them I will have to give them a shot.

I would likely rent them just to check them out to see how they are.

Those aren't Kung Fu movies, but thats okay. Most people mistakenly label them as such, so I forgive you.

I'll be more interested when my favorite Wuxia films go Blu. (or give me some Kurasawa!)

Tarantino has decent taste in old-skool Kung Fu films.

I'm in no way trying to say you're wrong, becuase I'm sure you're right, but if those aren't kung-fu movies, than their coveart certainly advertises them incorrectly IMO

I want Fist of Legend, properly subtitled (complete with the political segments), and with the 20min missing from the US version restored.

I have it subbed on VCD, and it's awful. I wish I could have found the LD

Kung Fu, Gong Fu or the modern Wushu are terms for Chinese martial arts. This is an announcement for Japanese MA movies.
I've never seen them myself, but at this price, who could resist

I'm not wrong at all....those are Japanese action/Martial Arts films. Kung Fu movies are Chinese/Taiwanese in origin. In fact, Japanese martial arts films have very little in common with Chinese martial arts films. The way in which the Martial Arts is handled is different and the way in which the fights are films is quite different as well. However, I will say that Sister Streetfighter could technically classify as a "kung fu" movie because it is based on Shorinji Kenpo, which is basically the Japanese version of chinese kung fu (supposedly Shaolin Kung fu....I could be wrong though) and the movie was kind of a Japanese take on Kung Fu movies...just not very successfully.

The genre of films that the Japanese are noted for are their "Chanbara" films, or period Samurai movies. Definately not the same as Chinese Kung Fu films, even though you find them in the same section at Blockbuster or Suncoast.

It is obvious that there is a difference and yes I knew that. But in the 70's all of the Asian Martial Arts films (kung Fu, Gung Fu, Wushu, Samurai, etc.) were played on a show on Sunday's called "Kung Fu Theater" where I grew up. That is why I said "Old Skool Kung Fu Movies"...This was probably before some of you were born.

I just thought it was cool to see that BCI was bringing these exclusively to Blu ray...at least at the moment.
