why do all my games play in 720p when the box say 1080?? I have it hooked up through my hdmi port to a dlp samsung ....the movies play in 1080\
PLEASE HHHEEEEEELLPPPP MMMMMMMEEEEE

ya I'm drunk and trying to show off my ps3 to my reatard xbox friends!!!!!!!

please help my blu brothers!!

Only thing I can think of is check your settings?

Some games that support 1080 have to be 'forced' into it. You do this by unchecking everything but 1080p in your display options. Then after you're done, you recheck everything back. It's a pain, it can be a hassle but it's a workaround.

your tv must have been set at 720p so which means if you want the whole 1080p on your ps3 games that do go up to 1080 you have to let your tv know that you want to go all the way up to 1080. or perhaps your tv is only 720p and so your ps3 games can only probably go as high as 1080i but not 1080p

It's cause some other nameless system has games running in about 640P and upscales them to 720/1080. As most games are multi system, we are stuck with the lowest common denominator. First party games should be 1080 for the most part though.

Its because 720p is considered the optimum resolution to be running at. If you force it to run at 1080p by unchecking 720p, then it is just upscaled in the PS3 as opposed to in the TV. Games that are native 1080p run in 1080p without having to uncheck anything.

I dont know my tv supports both 720p/1080i.
