Default Just something I noticed at my local Best Buy.

I went to Best Buy today to pick up Harry Potter 1-5. Our Best Buy here is only about 2 months old. What I noticed was that it looks like Blu is the format of choice. There are several stacks of BD players and numerous BD displays, at least 3 not counting the main selection. Its noticeable that they are putting more effort into all of the blu displays there. The one red display is sloppy in comparison. They have a stack of the HD players butted next to it collecting dust already. What I am trying to say when you see everything it looks as if they are just waiting for HDDVD to run out and dont really care. I swear they havent been restocking the red at all. Just thought I would share. I am excited about the HP 1-5 I picked up.

<HD DVD Fanboy>
That's because HD DVD is soooo popular that not only was nearly every player and disc in your Best Buy's inventory already sold but those who arrived too late to get players or discs took the store displays home as consolation.

My Best Buy doesn't really have a Blu-ray player selection which is a little disappointing. They have more dvd players, dvd/vcr combos, upconverting players on display. They definitely favor Blu-ray media at my location. I could not find, with ease, a Blu-ray boxset of the Harry Potter movies. I was a little disappointed in this.

At the Best Buy I work at the whole entire Magnolia HT room is displaying Blu-Ray on every single TV they have in there. At the outside we have about 3 BD displays with different players & LCD's/Plasmas. HD-DVD has no display where I work at

I have noticed that too. The only HD-DVD thing I've noticed at Best Buy was a small display and the movies. While the movie selection is fairly even where I am, it is obvious from the sheer number of Blu displays which format BB favors.

I have about 5 Best Buys near me and for the most part, they each have the main Blu-ray and HD-DVD sections next to eachother, which are of relatively equal size. But they ALSO have about 4 or 5 smaller Blu-ray stands spread throughout the store as featured items. Blu-ray is sweeping the city by storm

Upstate too, it's the same thing. The stores in my college town are predominantly Blu-ray. FYE has tons of BD ads in the windows and Best Buy's BD section is twice the size of the HD, and none of the HD-DVD's are ever featured in the week's new releases.

Wonder how long until they say bye-bye to HD DVD?
