Default Onkyo 505

I recently got an onkyo 505 receiver. I still have to tweak some things here and there but i noticed that it makes the voices sound ....very different from when i dont use the receiver for sound. Is that normal? Everything else sounds fine, but the voices have more echo and dont sound like the original. Am i even making sense? haha

well, a little more info would be helpful.

you have optical cable for audio? or RCA red/white? do you have a 5.1 speaker set-up? are you using a "listening mode"?

as much as Id love to guess at your problem, more info is needed.

i'm using 5.1 setup, and the cables i'll have to double check...my father set it up so i'm not quite sure.

i tried using different listening modes but the voices sound like they are ringing...an example would be when a football official uses his mic to make a call, that's what it seems to sound like.

are you using a PS3? or a Bluray player?

set optical output to Bitstream.
