Default Blade Runner / Blade Runner 2049 (2 Film Collection) - May 29, 2018

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Blade...lu-ray/204033/

I like this as a double feature release, but couldn't they at least list the movies in chronological order? My OCD is at peak levels looking at the cover... especially with that giant white banner.

Yeah, strange that 2049 is on top, but I guess it's simply because it's the more recent film. Obviously this will be mine. WOW HD are selling it for a reasonable Ł15.

Thumbs up

I haven't seen 2049 yet, and my copy of The Final Cut is still sealed. So I may pick this up.

Since I haven't upgraded to UHD I was thinking of getting this as to save some space on my shelf.

But I get it tho.

I was not terribly into the first Blade Runner, but my beginning experience with it was just on VHS growing up and then DVD with lots of commentary on the production. I enjoyed the behind the scenes stories more.
Then I ended up loving 2049 about ten times more than I expected to and I saw that one like eight times in the theater.

It's given me a good deal more appreciation for the original film, but I still can't say that I love it. :bigfatshrug:

Blade Runner is an easy movie to admire, but I've never loved it. GORGEOUS to look at, but frustrating as a storytelling experience. I still own the 5-disc Blu set, and drag the film out in one of its fifty different cuts hoping it will one day "click", but to me it's always been a B+ movie with A+ visuals.

The first time I saw BR ever was a bit on a censored TV airing pan and scanned for a few minutes. The first time properly was a few months later after reading Dick's novel in high school and picking up the 97 flipper DVD from a Walmart bin on a 27" CRT with just the TV speakers.
It was like a fever dream. I remember starting it, finishing it and being so blown away that I couldn't do anything else for weeks.
Then I saw the theatrical cut on the old Embassy VHS release and understood why people didn't like it in '82.

Unless I've misconstrued your post and you're implying Blade Runner isn't the greatest film ever made? I need closure.

That’s how I read it. Because BR is my favorite film.

Same, but I'm pretty sure it's Velvet's, too. Hence the confusion.

We should proclaim ourselves to be The Holy Trinity of Blu-ray.com Blade Runner Fanatics™. The name might need a bit of a trim, though.

Blade Runner is the definition of "film." Everything else is a spin-off.
