Default Forgot PSN Password! Help!

Hey guys,

I decided I wanted to have my PSP connect to my PS3 through the "internet" for Remote Play.

It wants to sign in to my PSN ID using my email address (which it shows) and my Password.

I have my log in to sign in automatically - so I haven't put in the password in ages.

I've tried every password I can think. It keeps telling me it's the wrong password for my ID. Obviously, I can't change it unless I put in the original password first.

Is there any way to find out what my password is? I want to be able to use my PSP through wi-fi.

Any help would be appreciated!

Is there a way to reset the password from the PS3 directly? I'm away from my PS3 right now, so I can't really check that.

The password is your e-mail password. You do use your e-mail, right?

ok, to figure out your password get on the ps3 go to your name(PSN ID ) click triangle and select sign out then click on sign in under the psn tab. Click forgot password then answer a couple questions for verification then it should let you create your new password.

No, it's not the password associated with that account - the password associated with the PSN ID is longer than the one I use for that particular email address.

No, to reset it in through the PS3 you have to type the original one first - which I can not remember, and for the life of me can not figure out. I've tried everything I thought it might be.

This suggestion scares me.

Here's why - I have the original PSN password saved (it only shows asterisks) - and I get signed in "automatically" when I hit "sign in".

To do what you suggested would mean I would have to delete the password that is currently saved and hope the verification questions come up. (I don't remember setting up verification questions when I set this up).

I want to set up my PSP - and I need my password - but I don't want to delete the password I have saved for automatic sign in - just in case something happens and the process doesn't work.

I hope that makes sense. I play Warhawk a lot and I don't want something to go wrong and I can't log in anymore.

What do you guys think?

well, not sure if this will help you remember or not, but I'm pretty sure you have to have a number in your password. When i signed in on a friends ps3 it took me forever to get it because i forgot about the number thing, and i usually don't use a number. Hope that jogs your memory!

Not really (I don't remember having to use a number) - but I appreciate the input.

Oh, man - what a bummer this is.

Cant you just answer the questions associated with the forgot password?
Is there anyway it would email your address the password to your computer email?

And maybe you could call playstation...Tell them your screen name...and email...maybe they can help also.
I figured since when i signed up for PS3...they emailed me store content and news content...that if you put forgot password they could email you your password?????

Never happend to me...just trying to help

Like I said, to try that - I would have to delete my "saved password" (that I can't see cause it's just astrisks) - and hope the question thing works - I just hate to chance it, have it not work - and lose my ability to log in totally. (I really don't remember setting up questions and answers when I first set my PSN ID).

I'll probably just call instead - is there a number we call for PS3 support?

Anyone happen to know it? I'll just call and get it from them - or have them email me a new one.

This thread says that they'll either just email you the new password, or ask your b-day and country first, and then have you change it. Either way it seems pretty simple. hopefully you can avoid the hassle of sony customer service this way

Yes, I have actually answered a verification question before - I forget the circumstances, but it has happened.

Shin-Ra's link was a safer way to do that in this case.

Anway, thanks again guys.

your welcome, sorry i could not respond earlier (all the isp servers were down in my town)
but either way is fine even if you do it on the ps3 your password will not be deleted. I forgot to mention I tried it before I told you.

Ooooooh, haha. Well, all is good now - and my PSP works with it.

Now, if I could only remote play Warhawk I'd be all set!
