Default Funniest HD-DVD quotes.

Quote:
them switching and not staying neutral was a bad business move. And as far as I can see, Blu-ray players are NOT dropping in price. And won't. In fact I expect prices to increase after this. By the way, Blu-ray players never outsold HD-DVD standalone players. Nice try. The format war is not over. Grow a brain dude.

If you honestly think this format war is over, you're kidding yourself. I expect to see Disney or Fox drop Blu-ray and go neutral soon.

you're a blu-boy. Quite obviously. You are the one who is totally ignorant. All these idiots coming out of the woodwork to post their typical crap. I'm not admitting defeat. I will never admit defeat... the format war is not over, pinhead.

Blu-ray can't win this because of higher production costs, higher disc costs and complicated players that scare away mainstream consumers.

Maybe you should learn the facts, instead of posting your typical idiocy.
I guess we can afford to have a little chuckle.

Got this one off Amazon...

If it happens, but there's too much time to tell. Plus HD DVD is still ahead and basically have had no glitches from the beginning as to where Blu-Ray is still trying to be perfected. Blu-Ray disc players were reading discs too fast and that is why there were jagged outlines on all of the objects and people before. If you look closely you can see it, but it has been improved by Pioneer Elite and Sony. Anyway it's basically up to Microsoft as to who they want to make the software for ie; Paramount. Sony also wants to start making a HD Dvd player with permission because they are not sure which way this is going to go. We all know Sony doesn't want to be out of the race at all as stubborn as they are. If HD DVD is already a flop then why did Onkyo come out with a HD DVD player at $799 and a high-end company like Meridian are coming out with one that will be over$1,000 soon along with a couple others in the makings. If the high-end companies are coming out with HD DVD players then they know something we don't know. None of these high-end A/V companies are even talking about manufacturing a Blu-Ray player because of the glitches they say it might be too risky. The HD DVD has a sharper, more detailed and exactly true to life picture and sound. That's if you know how to set-up your receiver compatible to your HD DVD player and there is a trick to it, which all A/Vphiles know how to calibrate to. Also LCD HDTVs are a sharper and have true colors, like you are right in the movie with better 3D look. LCDs are definitely the future tvs and have topped out in sales in 2007 especially Toshiba by a long shot. That makes the HD DVDs look better on both tvs, but they are compatible to LCDs. Plasmas have a great picture, if you like a lot of color. Blu-Ray is more compatible to Plasmas for the same reason. A Blu-Ray doesn't look as good on a LCD as it does on plasma because it does not have exactly true to life color tones. Al though I don't want to knock it it does still have a good picture, but I've been comparing them within my company since this all started. With the firmware updates on HD DVD players Standard Def DVDs look almost as good as HD DVDs, which is amazing. Before the firmware Standard DVDs looked good, but not as good as they do now with the updates. Rethink your theory before you decide because we don't know where this is going yet. The only thing I don't like is that Blu-Ray has movies that HD DVD doesn't have and vice-versa. That would be the only reason that I would get a Blu-Ray player and add it to my extremely high-end HT system, but with a scaler and possibly a tube buffer. But, I'm happy with what I have right now, so I would probably get the movies that are on Blu-Ray in Standard Def and play them on my HD DVD player since they look so damn good now and the sound effects are still phenomenal in DD.

Good lord

There are sooo many on that AVS thread I could cut and paste fast enough. I know it sucks to lose but wow are they in denial. I really hope rjam responds to the repeated requests to fulfill his promise to follow Warners decision.

Haha. Yeah, I've been seeing similar stuff like that all over the place. Even Amazon. I like the second one the best. I'm sure Disney and/or Fox would jump ship after the BDA now has Warner Brothers on their sideline. </sarcasm>

Now everyone will be stuck paying more money for Blu Ray machines, more money for Blu Ray disks, and generally more money for subpar technology. Sony wins, you lose.

Heck - even those poor folks who bought 1st generation Blu Ray players will soon find them to be semi-obsolete, as Sony just recently adopted some actual audio codec and Java standards for their disks for the first time. New disks willl have the new format content, and old units won't support those things. Do you think Sony cares - of course not.

In comparison, HD DVD had standards since day one, and their disks cost less and performed consistently on any of their players. They also outsold Blu Ray players to date (let's not talk about the game machine drives...most of those folks rent, not buy movies anyway). They met the basic media standards of the DVD Industry Council. Sony (Blu Ray) refused to meet those standards.

This is corporate betrayal to the American consumer at its highest level.

Blu Ray has been repeatedly proven to be an inferior product that is clearly manipulated by a handful of major studios. Yet, because Sony keeps pouring bad money after good into the pockets of a few, they seem to get their way.

Apparently there are alot of folks who have forgotten how Sony proprietary technology has repeatedly failed before and never made it mainstream - betamax, compact mini-disks, etc...

That's not to say Sony is a bad company or all their products are bad - its only when they try to railroad the public into "their way or the highway" formats and realted technology do we all lose.

Personally, I'm so livid at Time Warner right now, I'm going to deliberately find every avenue to avoid spending a nickel with that company or any of its subsidiaries ever again.

My personal protest will mean little to that megopoly of media, yet, I will feel better knowing I took my few hundred annual dollars away from their bottom line. AOL Time Warner has been in the tolilet for some time, and this is the last straw for my funding anything they sell or anything they do.

As for buying any Blu Ray player and/or disks...it ain't gonna happen here...and I'll discourage anyone I talk to to do the same.

Betrayal to the American consumer yet again. Shame on those who support this.

yeah there are quite a few loser babies over at dbstalk.com just spreading continued lies about the formats. Its funny, even in their death they can't admit anything. I have tried to correct as many of the lies as I can, but maybe we should just let them continue so the house of cards they build collapses all the more under the weight of its ignorance.
