Default Now Blu has won, you know what will happen next?

With HD DVD dead, ppl will get over the HD confusion and BluRay will be selling like HotCakes, in the near future, 4 yrs let's say, when HD TVs are even cheaper than now to a point that most ppl or LOTS of ppl have one, it would also crash MS' dream for their HD streaming service.

that aside, the only left for BluRay to compete is DVDs, so I believe in the not far future, BluRay movies (as well as the players) will have even bigger sales to compete head to head with DVDs in order to finally finish the transition, Isn't that just GREAT!!!

oh, a world without Craps (HD DVD) is just a much better world!!! and without all the pollution (red), we can finally see the sky (Blu) again!!!

In 4yrs we will all be victims to some ginormous asteroid headed our way. No one has mentioned any progress on that for the past year and NASA has had its head up its ass for over 10.

Sony will probably need to step up to the plate and build a giant blue laser to blast it out of the sky.

I always thought the name HD DVD was misleading, people will think "hey, it's a DVD, but it's high def!!!", quite sure many uninformed people offered them during Christmas period and they'll be returned (except some people who won't and ToshiMicrocrap sure counted on these "false" sales)

Why build something new? Just use all the leftover Toshiba HD DVD players, clump them into a ball of trash, and send it that way to knock the asteroid off course

Actually, now that Blu-ray has all but won, hopefully we'll get some higher quality encodes of some of the weaker BD titles out there.

There's no reason for studios to "hold back" and not make EVERY Blu release a thing of beauty.

There still wouldn't be enough bandwidth.

And to the OP: I'm sorry, but this thread gets the Captain Obvious award for today, Sunday, January 6th, 2008.

I hope they will drop the prices on Blu Ray discs in the near future. I think 30 is somewhat pricey. 20-25 would be great once DVDs die down.

Amen, that's what I've been telling ppl why it's a bad deal for ppl who buys BluRay while Warner Bros still releasing movies on both formats, cuz the quality is not as good as if they were only doing it on BluRay, so finally we could see every movie is at its best!!!

and trust me, the next huge thing for BDA, the CE makers and Stuidos is cutting price much more than they did with HD DVD, cuz the truth is HD DVD was jut as pricy as BluRay, but now the only competition is DVD, so in order of BluRay to take it all, they have to cut price against DVDs, also the players. so soon enough we'll see huge discounts and as I said within 4 years while HD TV is getting cheaper and cheaper, we'll see a total Blu world!!! and with SONY's total domantion!!!

I don't think anyone that has participated on this forum for over 6+ mos has paid full price for any BD movie for a long time.

My avg. BD movie price paid has been around $14 with all the BOGO and coupon sales we find around here.

Next thing you know, Toshiba and Micro$hit will come out with a giant red laser and fight Sony's blue laser to see who can win the "Lets Blast The Asteroid And Save The Planet War"

To the bright side...

Think of the stunning HDTV picture of the asteroid you're going to have right before you get to see it live and in person in your living room! Imagine the craters, right before you're cratered!

It takes time but Blu-ray will be on top later when the prices start to die down.

I wonder how long it will take for Discovery to release the footage on BD...

That could be, but given that they don't always work a giant clump of them would have to be boiled in the ocean and the firmware would ne re-upgraded. By the time that happens, we'll already be dead.

I love it when i see HD DVD fan use the statement that because the letters HD is infront it is naturally suppose to win.. TV ---> HDTV, so why not DVD ---> HD DVD. Dumb idiots. If only they knew that HD DVD was just a DVD on steroids and not a new technology like Blu-ray.

At least they won't have to boil it first
