This has nothing to do with HD movie players or formats. How is this in any way a big blow to Blu-ray? Terrible thread title.

please explain how this is a "Big Blow to Blu-ray!"

really, i just read about a battery problem that they fixed that they said has overheated one laptop in like 3.5 million (did i read that right?). they talked about an issue dealing with music copyrights that is over a year old and has been resolved. and they said drive manufacturing hasn't been as smooth as stated.

not sure how this is a "Big Blow to Blu-ray!" however, i'll say that if you are as large as they are that things like this will happen.

If you are referring to the battery problem, it's old news. I think they also decided to share the cost between several involved companies. Sony are also about to launch the PS3, some BD stuff and last I heard neither their music section nor movie section were doing too bad... so I think they'll survive

Anyway, there are a few other companies that are behind Blu-ray as well

I agree 100%. I have an apple lap top. It gets just as hot as the dell I used to own. Most people who own a laptop are smart enought not to leave it on their lap long enough to burn them. This artical reminds me of that lady who sued McDonald's for coffie that burned her. She won too. How stupid is that. The lack of common sense and the sue happy Jerks drive me crazy. When does it end?

This really has nohing to do with BD or HD. That HD A1 I own gets pretty hot, but I am not going to be putting it on my lap anytime soon. This thread IMO should be ended.
