Devil in a Blue Dress (1995) Coming from Twilight Time - Blu-ray Forum

Fellow member Brad1963 was able to get a confirmation from Twilight Time for an upcoming release of the neo-noir "Devil in a Blue Dress", starring Denzel Washington. Great news

I remember really liking this one, but not sure I need to own it. Will have to think about it. Glad it's getting a BD release though!

Been waiting for this one, it may lack the anger of the book but Denzel Washington is great and Don Cheadle is superb, I liked the soundtrack too.

Yes, this was Don Cheadle's breakout film role. To paraphrase one of the best lines of the film: "If you didn't want him dead, why'd you leave him with me?"

I wasn't a big fan of the novel or the movie, but the latter has one of the sexiest scenes I've ever seen. I actually would like to buy this and give it another chance, but can't swing it for $30 when there are too many other titles I know for a fact I'll like. I never picked this up on DVD, so maybe I'll go that route first and then see about the Blu. That is if the DVD isn't OOP and got halfway decent reviews.

Always like this one, one of my fave Denzel flix. Was sad that they never made any more of the books into films.

It's a terrific movie - Cheadle pretty much owns it and has never been better, so it'll be great if they keep his screen test from the DVD - but I'll never understand why the only significant detail they changed from the book was

when they were hoping for a franchise and knew at the time that he'd play a big part in the subsequent novels. Since the full score was never released on CD and it's one of Elmer Bernstein's best later efforts, I'm hoping for an isolated score rather than a music and effects track as well.
