Please let this be true! This will leave only Mr & Mrs Smith as the last of Hitch's American made movies not released on blu-ray.

Great news. Just one more (Mr. And Mrs. Smith) after this and all of Hollywood Hitch is on BD.

The DVD came out in 2004 though. I'm glad I've had it all these years, and I'm grateful we're finally getting this on BD, it's one of Hitchcock's undiscovered gems!!!

Out of curiosity, where was it announced? I don't see it on the Warner Archive Facebook page.

I'm not doubting the accuracy, just curious.

It wasn't officially announced yet, it just leaked out on Amazon, which is usually where we first see news of upcoming releases come out.

This is one of the few Hitchcock films I haven't seen, but I heard good things about it. I'll definitely pick it up.

One of my favorite Hitchcock movies and one not mentioned hardly at all. Marlene Dietrich is fabulous in it.

From WAC's FB page.

Quote:
COMING IN JANUARY 2022!
Newly remastered for Blu-ray from a 4K Scan of the original nitrate camera negative!
STAGE FRIGHT (1950)
BD-50
110 Minutes
B&W
DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono
16x9 1.37:1 Aspect Ratio (with Side Mattes)
Special Features: Featurette: "Hitchcock and Stage Fright"; Original Theatrical Trailer (HD)

In Alfred Hitchcock’s world, theaters are where danger stalks the wings, characters are not what they seem, and that “final curtain” can drop any second. The droll Stage Fright springs from that entertaining tradition. Jane Wyman plays drama student Eve Gill, who tries to clear a friend (Richard Todd) being framed for murder by becoming the maid of flamboyant stage star Charlotte Inwood (Marlene Dietrich). Filming in his native England, Hitchcock merrily juggles elements of humor and whodunit and puts a game ensemble (Alistair Sim, Sybil Thorndike, Joyce Grenfell, Kay Walsh and daughter Patricia Hitchcock) through its paces. No one turns a theatre into a bastion of dread like Hitchcock, and Stage Fright is proof positive. (Pictured below, Hitchcock in a rare behind-the-scenes photo with stars Marlene Dietrich and Jane Wyman)

Bought the DVD a few months back, haven't watched it yet.

Same with The Country Girl, which is getting an [imprint] release in...a week or so, I think?

Of course, I finally caved and bought this on DVD a couple months ago but I'll gladly re-buy it for a new transfer in HD.

Wow, from the OCN? And I was under the impression that the reason this was taking so long was due to the lack of good elements.
