Can any player do on the fly audio switching? - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know of, or have a player, Blu-ray or HD-DVD that can do 'on the fly' audio switching, say from digital to pcm out without having to stop playback to do so ? Being able to toggle like that would be beneficial with all these new high resolution audio formats, now here present or yet to come.

you can do this with any HDDVD OR BLU RAY

Any blu ray will do it. My sammy does it. I never tryied it with the HD DVD player. The A1 is like a women at that time of the month, if you tell it to do something you never know what is going to happen. So with that said, I was afraid to play with the A1 to much because I thought i was going to stop playing or shoot this disc out at me, then start screaming at me over the speakers.

Ok I will admit that was a bad one. I am going to hell for that.

I think he means switching from PCM to bitstream... if so, on the Samsung you have to stop playback and change it in the menu.
