Default Best BD player for Audio

What's the best player for True HD and DTS -HD. My AVR will process both, but which player will decode or bitstream both ?

Sony - BDPS300 (W/4.2 FW)

Will any of these allow my AVR to process both types of Audio ?

Thanks guys

The S300 will not bitstream TruHD or DTS HD MA it will now internally decode TruHD only.

BD-30 bitstreams but won't decode either TrueHD or DTS HD MA https://www.blu-ray.com/players/play...d=5&show=specs

1500 ditto https://www.blu-ray.com/players/play...=23&show=specs

BDP=S300 see Drago's post

See this page listing of the current player capabilities. Good info for comparison purposes.

This will get bloody.

There is no "Best" player for audio, as you asked. You must define what is important to you. What is best for you may be terrible for me.

+1 I agree. I do not know if there is an answer to your question. Part of it relies on opinion. The other part of it depends on the set up you have at home (what kind of surround sounds speakers, what kind of reciever you own).

With bitstreaming there is no difference. The player is merely a transport that sends an encoded data file to the AVR for processing. With player decoding for HDMI transmission, there should also be no difference, although there are few more variables introduced. And, there are fewer players that decode all formats, of course. If you are using analog, there can be significant differences. But, it sounds like you plan to stay digital.

No difference what so ever in bitstreaming to receiver. Its just a digital signal being sent to the receiver. Internal decoding would not be affected either unless you are using analog outputs. Thus the player would have to use its DAC's. But when passed thru HDMI (bitstreaming or PCM) it really only matters how good your receiver and its DAC's are. So get whatever player you would like that does either bitstreaming or internal decoding for the HD audio. But id go PS3 or Panasonic BD-55
