Default Holding off Blu-ray for a couple of months

I know, im sorry but I am going to hold off on buying Blu-rays for 2-3 months.
I just bought a DS lite with 2 games. Now I am saving my spending money on a Wii, and a slim PSP and some games like GTA IV. The reason why is because I want to save the PS3 for games untill my birthday. One reason is I want to wait until May and get a good Blu-ray player to play Blu-rays on. I will probably buy 1-3 a month because I want to show my support for the Blu side but I am not going to buy heavy until I get a decent standalone player. I hope you can understand what I am saying because I have only bought 11 since November but when I get a standalone player in a few months I will show you I am Pure Blu.

I just did the complete opposite. After 20 + years of gaming. I don't have the flame anymore and sold everything. I'am now 100% HT dedicated..

I hear ya Tru, Personally I was a little disappointed with the Wii, its all my son could talk about before Xmas, surely it was exciting at first cause it was new, but Id much rather have spent the money on buying more movies on Blu.

I think it's mainly the hype. It sounds so cool thinking about it, but once that wears off, it'll probably just sit there and collect dust. Everyone I know says they used to play it a lot when they got it, but not so much anymore. As for me, I'll probably buy it for the super smash bros

It's going to be tough for Tru to keep up with all the game consoles and finding the time to play with it all. My psp and ds only sees any action is when I'm deployed. But it's always better to have it than not having one i guess

You don't have to explain to us how you spend your money. Enjoy your games

You're a funny guy. Do you really think you need to apologize to us for not buying BD's?

I think you are a strong man. Myself, I'm addicted, so I'm not going to stop.

enjoy

Why people buy the Wii is beyond me ... their gimmick controller works incredibly bad for 80% games (those not developed by Nintendo and even those are not working so well), the games cost 50+ $ when similar kids games cost 10- $ on PSN ...

Thats your opinion in the same sense why someone would spend money on blu-ray movies. It would be an open ended arguement on both ends. The good part is the Wii holds its value unlike blu-ray has. Havent seen a massive BOGO on wii games other than TOYRUS, which was greatly appreciated by the way.
I support both Wii and Blu-ray and buy games for the DS as well, so I feel the OP's pain

I have a PS3, a 360 and a Wii and my family loves to play the Wii. We have a great time with it playing Wii Sports and it brings us all together for at least a little while throughout the week. I love gaming and play my PS3 more so then all the others, but the Wii is indeed a fun system.

Seems fine with me, you work hard for your money and you should buy what ever brings you the most enjoyment.

So true. Bought one on ebay for the kids for Xmas. Oldest plays Zelda on the virtual console and youngest kid plays gamecube games. Actual Wii games they have no interest in

I think the Wii is a bit like The Matrix...no one can be told that you won't enjoy the Wii for more than 3 months...it must be experienced. I had one too, but luckily I sold it for more than I bought it for. To the OP like many say there is no need to apologize, but I wouldn't be too concerned about burning out your PS3 drive. If you're more interested in purchasing games than movies then that's okay, but if you're just waiting to buy more BD's until you can afford a standalone player I'd say just keep using the PS3 and buy a standalone later. Either way you're buying what you want so have fun.
