Do you honestly feel bad for HD-DVD fans?

Considering that the market heavily favored Blu-Ray from the very beginning, even the studios favored Blu-Ray.

Also considering that if you didn't know which side was going to win out in the end, why jump in with both feet?

So pony up folks, let us know how you really feel.

Naw. I've been burned in the past by formats that died slow or quick deaths. Nobody ever felt sorry for me.

(They're lucky, actually, that their doomed format will likely die a quick death.)

I do not feel sorry for the obnoxious ones who are still out there spewing lies and who still constantly bash our format. I don't feel sorry for the ones that say that they will never buy BD and will go back to watching SD and wait for the rise of HD downloads (which will take a long time).

I do feel sorry for the ones that were misinformed and want to come to Blu. They seem pretty genuine and just wanted to experience movies in HD quality. It is very confusing for most people when there is a format war.

I don't feel sorry for the HD DVD consumers. Just like Blu-ray consumers, HD DVD consumers had the same risks. When you buy into one or the other format you take on the assumed risks. One side was bound to lose. If you didn't do your homework before you dove into the HD pool, you are just as culpable.

I personally dove into Blu-ray with both feet without hesitation because I did due diligence and researched what both products had to offer. In the end, I felt that Blu-ray was the better of the two products.

NOTE: please grammatically correct poll option "Humans is such" to "Humans are such".

No. Most everyone should have or did their research before investing in a format. There were clearly two choices to make. Those that chose the red team did so openly and were not forced.

Someone was going to lose this war, but it was pretty clear who was growing and that was clearly the blu team starting at the beginning of last year.

It's the chance you take with early adoption. We all had access to the same info and they just chose the wrong side. So I don't feel sorry for them.

They bought into the lesser format, knowingly or unknowingly. In either case, it's their own fault.

If they were an informed consumer, then they made a poor decision. If they were an uninformed consumer, then it's their fault for not getting enough information.

I guess the only people I would feel sorry for are the ones that were misled, or given bad information.

I feel pity for them.
They did not do a little research and/or listened to FUD and decided to cheap-out on their HDM source.

I only would feel bad for the uninformed new persons that unknowingly are conned into getting that stupid format. But when I see the endless stupidity of some Red fanatics e.g. SuperXP over at Highdefforum, who spreads FUD on a daily basis, I actually enjoy every time Blu kicks Red in the balls

I felt bad right after the Warner decision.
I feel no pity for the remaining ones though. they're just stubborn zealots who deserve to lose any additional money they dump into their dieing format.

hell no, why should I? They made us suffer during Transformers week by reducing our number to 51. Now take that 83%.

no, i don't feel sorry for the anti-sony M$ fanboys that wasted their money by intentionally ignoring facts inconvenient to them.
but i do feel sorry for all the people tricked into going hd-dvd because of lying hd-dvd fanboys working at B+M stores.

besides, that's the risk you take being an early adopter.

Not really, they can do research just like everyone else.
It would have shown them that Blu is clearly the superior format.

I think you should check out that one thread on HDD in which some Canadian folks were talking about writing letters to the Canadian Government about anti-trust laws with regards to Blu-Ray. *LOL*
