DAMN ME! speaker questions for ya'all

OK.... Blu Ray and pioneer 5080 now have me in the garage opening speaker boxes. These speakers have sat for 2-3 yrs because regular dvd's just never cut it for me anymore after HDTV entered my life...Member of HD anonymous

then some smart asses make Blu Rays...damn them !! LOL So....have an Onyko receiver that is going to the bedroom and on to a new one with Mr. Crackhead... so we have that covered....
ok, ok, I am getting there with my question...had to give you the history...

In possession of Boston 5.1 Micro 90 surround sound speakers and sub in GREAT shape and they take 8 ohms. Honestly loved these lil guys even when pumping the old yamaha rv850( I think?)...they pack a punch for lil bastards.

will these speakers cut it for a solid surround system with todays receivers?
I quite honestly just dont wanna buy a expensive(for me) receiver and have the speakers pooh all over themselves. Yeah a lil too descriptive but hell...its Friday...lets live a little!!

the reviews seem really good. I think they should sound good no matter what receiver you have pushing them.

Fire them up. Just fire them up and then decide. Play some different kinds of material through them - dialogue, sound effects, music. Make 'em sweat. Sniff for smoke coming out of them (this is important).

If they pass the test, you're set.
