I just watched this on Prime Video a couple weeks ago. I don't think I'd buy it, but it was definitely a cool movie.

I truly hope so, but "I haven't seen it, but Alex Cox let slip on a podcast that he was working on something for a Criterion release of The Parallax View (1974)." isn't much of a source in the light of day. Which podcast? Anyone knows more about this?

Great news if true. I know this has been on the top a few people's wishlists for awhile. I remember someone mentioning that they believe Criterion also has Bulworth, so it would be nice if we get two Beatty titles in the same month.

I re-watched the dvd of this a couple weeks ago. There are so many plot holes, and I kept thinking that Beatty 's character was just a really bad journalist. It is funny how budget they got with the sequence when the

. Nowadays it would just have been CGI'd.
I like this film, but I think Pakula's next film, All the President's Men, is better.

this is an interesting film, a great example of 70's paranoia filmmaking and with a pretty memorable ending (as well as opening that's shot on Seattle's Space Needle if I recall correctly)

Finally, some good news in 2020.

Bulworth would be amazing also.. recently bought the dvds of that and Bugsy on ebay thinking blu-ray chances are slim.. maybe not? The director's cut of Bugsy is a damn good film. We need more (all) of Beatty on blu!

Yeah, I'm actually surprised Bugsy doesn't have a Blu-ray anywhere in the world. I would have thought either Sony or Shout Select would have put this out by now. My personal favorite Beatty performance.

OH MY GOD FINALLY.

This is one of the greatest political thrillers ever made, it's honestly shocking that it's taken this long to get a blu-ray release.

I would love a Blu-Ray of Bulworth. I have the DVD and Laserdisc releases.

The Parallax View has been in my "want to watch" pile for a long time (same with Bugsy), so I'll finally have to check it out. Looks like an exciting film.
