Default PS3 Setting up online

Alright so its a simple concept but complicated for some reason, I have tried hooking my ps3 up on wireless and wired connection and for some reason is says something about a dsn or dns error, I really want to play online but I have no idea how to fix the problem, Suggestions anyone?

I work for an ISP, and for your system to work, you will need to know these things:
1. do you connect through a modem or router given to you by the ISP?
2. do you need to set up the connection as a DHCP or Static or PPPoE connection type.
3. if the connection is static/PPPoE they can give you the DNS settings you need to use with that.

If your running on DHCP then choosing auto config on all options on the PS3 should have you connected without error.
