Sony will be releasing Seinfeld: The Complete Series on 4K UHD on December 17th! This will be a MOD-distributed release, but will be pressed discs. Each season will come in individual cases. A separate Blu-ray release is also coming out. The 4K set will be in 1.33:1, while the Blu-ray release will be 1.78:1. Special features will be in 1.78:1 for both sets.

WOW. I have to admit that I'd prefer the OAR of 1.33:1, but I strongly suspect we'll get 1.78:1 versions and I don't know if I can resist not getting this.

I wonder if this happened because of everything WB did to bring Friends to 4K then when they announced a 4K UHD release, Sony decided to match them with Seinfeld. I expected a Blu-ray release years ago--and was starting to wonder if that train had sailed--but I never would have expected to get the series in full 4K.
