Default Fiddling with TV Settings when Watching Blu-Ray Movies

I bought a new 1080p plasma TV and are very pleased with it so far. Especially with BD movies, the colors are a knock-out and the overall PQ fantastic.

However, when watching movies on BD, I can't help but notice the picture seems to have more... I don't what's the term, maybe like "dynamic range"? In that the colors seems to be more and wider range of brightness when compared to normal DVD. So I find myself constantly fiddling with the TV settings when watching a movie in the attempt to get the best picture for selected parts of the movie.

Just for example, I was watching HP : Goblet of Fire on my PS3 the other day. This movie has lots of dark scenes and also lots of brightly lid outdoor scenes. I initially choose the "Dynamic" Picture settings and the dark scenes at the beginning of the movie looks fantastic with deep blacks and greys. Then the movie later on displayed an outdoor scene and the colors and contrast just become too bright and contrasty. So I turn it to "movie" picture settings, which mute the colors and easier on the eye but when it goes back to the dark scene, the picture loss the impact and appears too soft. I eventually settle on the "Standard" setting which is a compromise between the two.

Anyone else have this experience?
