If you replace hard drive on PS3 is it posiblle to somehow transfer data from old HD such as PSN ID, game saves etc.Or you have to start all over again.

Do a search there is lots of details on this forum. You can copy files to usb drives etc, or use the backup/restore utility.

Search so you understand the issues.

If you look under System Settings, you'll see a Backup Utility. You can use this to save everything to any USB drive (or SD/Memstick/CF if you have the card readers, I think), then use the same utility to restore everything once you swap out the drive. When I did it, I deleted all my stuff I had downloaded from PSN or had copied over from my computer to get the size down since I only had a small flash drive available, then re-downloaded stuff after the new drive was in.

If all you care about is your system/PSN account information, you don't actually have to do anything, since they're stored in flash rather than on the hard drive.

You should get an external harddrive for back-up. Much better than downloading everything over..
