Default PS3, WMP11 Sharing, and file extensions?

PS3, WMP11 Sharing, and file extensions?

I can play files with following extensions on my PS3:

.mpg
.m2t
.m2ts
.mp4

from any external media and internal HDD using XMB.

Today I set up WMP11 sharing. It works fine, I can stream videos from my PC, but the thing is that PS3 only sees files with .MPG extension.

Is this suppose to be that way?
Is this WMP11 problem?
Is this PS3 problem?
Am I missing something?

TIA

In my experience, any file format that WMP11 is incapable of playing back or adding to its library isn't shared so the PS3 can't access it but there may be more to it than that.

What Shin-Ra said. I can't stream M4A files. But to add to the list, Divx-encoded AVI plays.

There is a pluging thing that will let you add any file extensions to wmp and stream them. Also the k-lite codec pack lets you play them on wmp. I have mine set up to stream WMA, WMV, MP4, M4A, MP3 AVI, DIVX, XVID, AVI and it can do almost any other file format you can think of but those are the ones i have.
