360 HD question for owners - Blu-ray Forum

I was thinking about buying a 360 elite soon but I don't need that 120GB HD at all. Would anyone be willing to trade my the 20GB+$100 for a brand new never used 120GB? That way it's almost as if I bought the pro. I honestly just want the black model to match the rest of my entertainment equipment.
Just wondering if anyone would actually do it before I go ahead and buy it.

you do know the harddrive on the pro is not black yes?
thats why the Halo 360 had a new harddrive

it's like chrome, yes? I'll take that and a black console over all white console. Plus I just have absolutely no need for the 100 extra GB

Either get the Halo version for $400 and have it all be a sort of gunmetal green, or stick with the elite for all black and keep the 120gig HDD.

I understand you don't like the white (neither do I) but I wasn't willing to pay an extra $100 for it in black and didn't want the Halo green. I got the Pro Sunday, and it's the new version with the better MB, better heatsinks, and HDMI / 1080p.

While I don't need the 120gig drive and 20gigs will be enough for me since I'm not downloading movies and am using it as a windows media extender for pics and movies and mp3s; I'd be lying if I said I wished the pro didn't come with a bigger hard drive. I'll get one eventually, but no rush for it on my end.

It's only $100 more, and the black HDD will match the black system. I hdon't like the white either, but I would REALLY hate a black system with a white HDD. Or vice versa.

I've considered upgrading to the elite because my current 20gb hdd is just insufficient. My kids play a lot of the XBLA games and I think there's maybe 2gb left on that drive, after demos, game downloads, etc. I'm also pissed that it doesn't have HDMI. Oh well.

But my biggest issue with the Xbox 360 is the NOISE. That sucker gets LOUD. And it's not the fans... it's the damn disc drive. Spins up like it's about to go into orbit. Unfortunately, everything I've read about the elite says MS used 2 or 3 different drive sources, and only 1 of them is "quiet" by comparison. The sad thing is that you have no idea which drive you get until you open the box.

Not quite, Elite's also come with an HDMI cable, the optical cable dongle and Component cables. Plus a black controller
