Default Buying from hardware Amazon

Obviously, they use several venders for popular items. My question has to do with "authorized" versus "unauthorized" venders of a brand of hardware.

For example, if you were to buy a Yamaha receiver, does Amazon only use authorized dealers, so the Yamaha wanranty, etc. will be honored? Do they ship from some venders who are authorized and some who are not?

Do you always know ahead of time where your unit is coming from? Are the waranty and return policies dictated by Amazon or does it depend on which company ends up filling your order.

I've only bought "software" from Amazon in the past - books, CD's BD's, etc. -- and have never had a problem. However, it is more of an issue if plunking down several hundred dollars for a piece of A/V equipment. I've checked their site but can't be sure. Any help would be appreciated.

I doubt Amazon can bird-dog all their sellers..... so they're probably not "Authorized" but as far as ensuring you get your stuff, they help in that aspect.
