Default Daredevil and Elektra

with all the comic book movies fox has access to and has been pumping out i'm surprised we haven't at least seen an announcement for either one. However if they do, Fox better damn well release the DC of Dare Devil, there was no comparison whatsoever in terms of the changes that went on between the theatrical and DC.

I certainly agree with Daredevil. If it comes to Blu, I certainly hope it's the Director's Cut. Otherwise, why bother to buy it?

However, I also believe that Fox needs to release the Extented Cut of the first Fantastic Four movie. I've watched so many decent Fox sales on amazon come and go (the recent one is yet another example) in which I simply cannot bring myself to buy the non-extended cut version of FF1 when I have, and thoroughly enjoy, the SD version of the extended cut.

That's why I was surprised to learn that Disney is coming out with the non-extended cut version of Narnia. What's up with that?

I certainly hope that whenever LOTR comes to Blu, they release the extended cut versions. Otherwise, I won't bother to buy them. I have the extended box sets on SD and wouldn't consider buying the shorter theatrical versions.

DD was pretty gash. Directors Cut was better, but still, Ben Afleck wasn't very good.

Electra was god damned awful, almost Ghost Rider bad. Almost.

Getting off subject a tad, why was the DC better than the theatrical cut? I saw the theatrical cut on DVD and I think it could rank as one of the worst movies I ever saw and holds the distinction in my heart as being the worst superhero movie ever (I never saw Ang Lee's Hulk). Does the DC really improve the storyline and overall viewing experience? The only thing that even got my through the entire picture was a great performance from Colin Farrel.

Interestingly I did love Elektra and would love to see that on Blu!!

But some of us, who like our super-hero flicks, regardless, thought they were all sufficiently OK enough to buy. The only one I had a real problem with was The Hulk, which I still bought on DVD. The others, even The Punisher, I enjoyed enough to buy and keep--and would consider--or have bought again--in BD.

Heck, I have Captain America on LaserDisc and liked it enough, and that one was not well thought of. I had Supergirl on LD and bought it again on DVD!

There's no accounting some of our tastes when it comes to super-hero flicks, regardless of the qualilty.

Mainly as the love story between DD and Elektra was almost completely dropped and the fight sequences where gritter and overall the movie was darker. This was the version which should have been released without doubt.

These two are works of art compared to some of the Marvel based superhero TV movies of the late 70s and early 80s. *shudders while thinking about Captain America*

I too am a Super Hero fan, but that doesn't mean I'll allow this toss to come out without me picking it apart.

If your such a fan you should be annoyed that these monstrosities are allowed to be released and sold!

I enjoyed The Punisher, Hulk, X-Men 1 & 2, Spider-man Tril, Fantastic Four 1 & 2, Blade 1 & 2.

The rest:

X-Men 3, Blade III, Ghost Rider, DD, Elektra were shit.

Imo.

I really liked the villains, they were done so well, the rest, not so well.

Of your two lists, I would switch The Hulk with DD (The Director's Cut). So, I don't think we're that far apart in our overall opinions, except I wouldn't use the "S" word to desribe any of them. (I haven't seen Blade II or III.)

But I still bought Ghost Rider and X-Men 3 in Blu-ray (and Hellboy). And I still own Supergirl in DVD and Captain America in LaserDisc.

Again, IMO.

Each person's taste's are different. Elektra was only meh, I'd buy it for cheap cuz I'm a superhero/comic book *****, but I absolutely LOVED the Daredevil DC. Plus I even liked the Hulk.

Captain America on LD! Supergirl on LD & DVD! Dude, tell the truth, you are the Comic Book guy from the Simpsons aren't you! I just knew you really existed! (Probably because I have been in so many Comic Shops and have met so many real life versions of him)

Hey, the Comic Book guy is my favorite Simpsons character!

But I don't look a bit like him, though I do still buy comic books, even at the ripe old age of 58. (And having attended a few ComicCons in my day, there a plenty of guys out there who do look like him.)

I have both on DVD so I'm sure I'd pick up the blu-ray versions if released.

This movie is horrible, dont wast your money on this unless the blu ray is 5 dollars max. The fight in the park killed the whole movie for me.

Heck I'm just a comic book fan who is glad that these movies are being made. Are they all great? No...but some people may have their own reason for enjoying a particular movie.

That being said I actually enjoyed both of these movies DDDC, Elektra and Ghost Rider.

I'm just glad they are being mad!

I'm in the minority that loved Daredevil, even the theatrical version. It was true to the character and I thought Garner and Affleck worked well together. The fight scenes left me wanting a little more (most of that was solved by the director's cut), but as I get older I like the storytelling more and more. I thought Affleck did a good job with the character . . . I think it's just fashionable to not like anything Ben Affleck is in
