how do you get the remote to work w/the system? - Blu-ray Forum

I have the 60 gig version got the remote recently and can't figure out how to sync the remote w/the console. Any helpful information? Also I tried downloaded the update on the 22nd but can't seem to get it to install/update.

First you need to install the update. After that is done you will have to go to settings. then accessory settings. Select Register Bluetooth Device. Select Rigister BD remote control. Follow the on screen instructions and there you go.

Do you have a direct link to the proper update? I have a PUP file I downloaded on the 22nd of this month, if that is the correct file. I copied it to a cd-r and tried to update, but it didn't do anything it said no applicable data found and it was the update that was on this site. I tried to register the bluetooth remote, but when I went to the register bluetooth device part on the PS3 it was just scanning for like 20 minutes, so something has to be wrong as I had batteries in the remote. Can someone please provide me with a direct link for the proper update and precise instructions on how to go about it from there? It would help me out a crap load. Thanks in advance guys and girls. I tried to copy the update from here
http://www.us.playstation.com/ps3/network/updates, burned it to a cd and tried to update, but it said no applicable update data found. So how the F do I get my remote to sync w/my PS3? Thus far the system dosen't seem to respond to the remote and I can't find any kind of update to let the two sync together. HELP!!!!!!!! Please. It only lets me register headset/microphone/headphone. So I'm assuming it's not up to date, but I downloaded the 1.32 system update from here as I said above http://www.us.playstation.com/ps3/network/updates but, when I go to install it says no relevent updates or something. WTF!!!

I just got a new PS3 remote - I'll try it tonite and let you know. But - I do think you may need to be plugged in via USB while registering it...

all the instructions are on screen after going to the accessory settings. i believe the instructions included with the remote say you have to have firmware 1.30 or newer.

Just wanted to know since I would like one myself, though I don't think I've seen any in stores yet around here.
