Default Sony PS3 Bluetooth Remote Work???

Hello all,

I recently purchased Sony's remote for the PS3 for Blu-ray use, and I cannot seem to get it to work. I press buttons... it does nothing. I have replaced the batteries and am still stumped. My impression was that it lacked support by the PS3 but Sony was releasing a firmware update for it months ago, before I even got my PS3. And yes, I should be fully updated too.

Thanks for any help!

Did you register it to the PS3 yet? Bluetooth devices need to be synced or 'registered' to work with products.

Thanks so much for the quick responses. I guess it would behoove me to NOT throw away packaging before I ensure I know how something works, huh?

Thanks again folks, I will try that first thing when I get home today.

Don't forget that if you have set up a network connection, you always have access to the manuals online.

LOL I just had this trouble with my boss. I talked him into buying a PS3 to watch Blu-ray and DVDs with, so he got a remote too.
He couldn't get it to work and I told him to RTFM (not really but you get the picture). Lo and behold... it described how to register the device in the manual for the remote.
It's easy, it takes 1 minute, and you never have to do it again.

Wow...

Well, so sorry I didn't RTFM... kind of hard when I threw it away, and even cracked on myself for that fact in my first response to the post that actually helped me out instead of all the posts competing to "win teh interweb" like some of the other responses.

I should have known that this forum would be like all others, with a bunch of trolls just trying to make people feel bad for asking simple questions...

...well, dont mind other people's oppinions too much. At the end of the day it doesnt even matter as long as you get your problem solved.

Theres always a smart ass no matter where you go.

(even with reading the stupid manual I still cant get my blutooth headset that came with Warhawk to work...that and it does'nt even fit my freakin ears! so I gave up on using it. oh well.)

Don't fret. There's a great deal of good information and helpful people on this site. You just have to wade through the B.S. sometimes to get to it. Ignore the asses, pay attention to the good responses and you'll have a better overall movie experience than if you went somewhere else in search of the same info....
