Default Wow...HiDefDigest SUCKS!

THE BEST (AND WORST) OF 2006

Lets not mention that small thing called audio quality anywhere in the Best of 2006 cause that would mean giving a point to Blu-ray or *gasp* Sony. Pfff...

HD DVD actually deserves this year's kudos. Sony stumbled out the gate. Universal exploded. Disney and Fox were MIA for a good part of the year. And Warner held back on the BD side.

But, we are already seeing the quantity AND quality of Universal titles slip. And BD has really just begun with the launch of its player for the masses, the PS/3.

I agree, but for AQ, not even an honourable mention?

A yes, no specific AQ category. The closest would be "Music Title" with 'Legends of Jazz Showcase' (Blu-ray) and 'The Last Waltz' (Blu-ray) getting honourable mention.

We know the bias is there. But, really Universal made it easy this year for that bias. And look at all the titles there that Warner should have already released on BD.

Sony, Disney and Fox need to step up and announce some mouth watering titles at CES. People need to know they are serious about Blu-ray, and aren't hedging to see what is going to happen.

Shut up the critics with titles nobody can ignore. Get most of the HD lovers with HD DVD to get a PS/3. And then Universal can get with the game by next fall.
