OK here is a poll of what you have. I have seen people have a 150" HDTV projector and a 50" HDTV with Blu ray one both. Then an awesome home theater on both. Now my question is why did you buy another Blu ray player when you really only need one HD ROOM. Just state the answer below.

Why another blu-ray player?
Why not ask, why a second TV in your house? As more and more of us have more than one HDTV in the house, it makes sense to have multiple blu-ray players. If you have just one BR and multiple SD DVD players, then you have to buy popular movies on both formats. Why should sharp pictures and great sound be limited to only one room of the house? |

The one in my living room for cinematic presentation, the one in my room for putting me to sleep, the one in my office to keep me alert every so often, the one in my garage for when I'm working on my car, the one in my closet for when I'm getting ready for work, the one in my bathroom for the twosies, the one by the door for when I'm about to leave, the one in my car for when I'm driving to work, the one in my kitchen for when I'm warming up some chow, and finally the ones I've replaced all the windows in my house with.

Now, let's say this person for whatever reason wants to watch a movie in one of these other rooms with the standard def TV in it. By way of your logic, this person shouldn't keep a Blu-Ray player in this room, so in order to watch a movie that this person owns on Blu-Ray, they'd either have to also own it on DVD in order to watch it in that room, or would have to disconnect and move their Blu-Ray player from the main HDTV and hook it to this smaller one. Disconnecting the player repeatedly would just be annoying and cumbersome. And buying every movie in both formats just for the off chance that you'll want to watch a particular movie in another room on a standard-def TV would just be a lot of money being wasted, not to mention the extra storage space needed to hold an extra copy of each movie. Buying an extra Blu-Ray player and hooking it up in the extra room is probably the most logical option for this. That way, they can watch whatever movie they want to when and where they wish. Yeah, the big point of Blu-Ray is to have better picture and sound over DVD, and you aren't going to experience that from a standard TV. However, some people will likely just want the simple convenience of being able to watch the one disc in any room of the house where they have a TV. And in the long run, buying an extra Blu-Ray player is going to be more cost effective than buying every two copies of each movie just to have them in both formats. There will probably be portable Blu-Ray players at some point, just like we have portable DVD players now. On such a small screen, you aren't really going to get much extra quality out of the Hi-Def disc, but the point in this case isn't so much the quality as much as the convenience. In my personal opinion, the cost of Blu-Ray players are still a little to high to warrant buying one for each room of the house, but if someone has the money and desire to do so, then more power to them. I have 2 players currently, though the 2nd one was mainly meant to replace the crappy first one. I initially got a Samsung BD-P1200 unit as an award where I work, but it constantly is in need of firmware that doesn't come out until LONG after the fact, so then I got a PS3. Right now the Samsung unit just isn't hooked up. I may update the firmware soon and just put it in one of the other rooms so that I can watch the Blu-Rays that I have that do work on it if I wish to (though I would eventually like to just get rid of it entirely). I also do not plan on replacing all of my SD-TVs with HDTVs. Some DVDs that I have (in many cases older TV shows that weren't remastered ) look a lot better on a standard TV than on an HDTV (since the flaws aren't as obvious on an SD-TV), so I plan to keep them around. However, I would also like to hook Blu-Ray players up to them eventually when they come down in price, just so that I don't have to rebuy all of the movies that I am now buying only on Blu-Ray over again in DVD just to watch them in these other rooms Where the SD-TVs are located if I wish to do so. |

I am currently running 2 BD players on my big tv (pannasonic BD30 and PS3). I am looking to get the new Panny BD50 and moving the one from downstairs to my tv upstairs. A couple of reasons for this. I have a 37" 1080p TV upstairs so why not take avantage of it. Also my wife *****es about it being cold in my family room downstairs. I have to say that i use my upstairs TV more during the week then using my big Tv downstairs.

Why do people have more cars in their garage than licensed drivers?
Why do people have a T.V. in a spare bedroom, or in a basement they rarely go into?? Why have cable when you can get 5 or 6 channels for free???? Basically, the wife and I watch movies in bed sometimes at night, and although the big "system" is in another room, another Blu-Player will be added to this room for this purpose, since right now it's an HD DVD player, and I use it mostly to up-convert the standard DVDs I have, but new titles (Like NCFOM etc) I only have on Blu, or stuff that comes from Netflix on Blu can't be watched in there, etc..... We have 11 players capable of playing DVDs in our house-hold..... so I can see how the need to add more Blu-Players is necessary. Sonny is gonna give you hell!
