I currently have a 60" Sony SXRD KDS-60XBR1, and love it. The problem is that is does not accept a 1080p signal. I am looking to sell this TV and potentially upgrade to a 52" XBR4/5 (although, from what I see, the 5 doesn't warrant the extra $$ for its limited "extra" features).
My question is, if I do this, I will be shaving 8" from my viewing area. Is the 1080i / 1080p difference that big to be concerned with? Is it worth shedding the extra size to get the "better" TV. I do love the Sony Line, and see that even with their new roadmap, they will go 55" and 70" I know even if I saved all my pennies from now until September, I couldn't afford that 70" My room is wide open and spacious, and could accomodate almost any sixe TV. Again, is it worth shaving 8" to get a 1080p signal? Is PQ going to be that much better? Thanks for your input Mark |
