Ticketmaster is the most overpriced website for tickets.. EVER -_-V RANT

So for mother's day I wanted to get my mom tickets to see Dave Matthews Band live, and figured id check out ticketmaster.com.

I go there, and see there are two options , 35.00 and 74.00, so I select two 35.00 tickets.

Thats fine , 70 bucks is okay. Doesn't bother me.

Then I get nailed with a times two "convience charge" of nearly 20 bucks.

Im still like, okay thats fine.

Then I go to the final page, and it asks me how I want my tickets shipped to me.

19.50 for express mail.

19.00 for priority mail.

17.00 for slow standard mail.

or 15.00 for media mail.

Note these arent the actual titles, just what they are through the mailing service.

OR

I can select "PRINT MY TICKETS AT HOME" and they charge me 2.50.

What a crock of bull. When the hell did it ever cost more than 5.00 to ship something priority?

So needless to say , I declined to buy anything from ticketmaster, and bought her some flowers and some cd's she wanted, and lotto tickets.

Just ranting, but good lord, ticketmaster sucks.

Oh it's worse, sometimes you camp out overnight at a Ticketmaster and are first in line, and then they come out and tell you it's a flipping lottery system. Then they draw a number, and everybody ahead of those people have to go to the end of the line, and that person that might have only been there one hour is all of a sudden in first place.

It's insane some of the stuff ticketmaster pulls off.

I was looking to buy Radiohead tickets and noticed the same thing. I can buy Pavillion seats at stubhub for the same total as shipping and service charges for Lawn seats through these money grubbing bastards....

I just do the Ticketfast for $2.50 or pick up the tickets from Will Call, which is free.

But I do agree that their "convenience charge" is outrageous.

That's because they don't want you camping out. I used to work at a place with a ticketmaster, and it's hell on bloody earth explaining to people why we won't look up tickets for them over the phone, that if they want that they need to call ticketmaster (they don't feel like waiting on hold), and that no there's nothing I can do to make sure little Suzie gets N'Sync tickets

At least once a week they would demand to speak to the manager because I refused to help them over the phone.

Yeah, their convience charge is insane. And the seats you get from their website sucks. I went to a Dream Theater concert last year with BKBluray. He called in and bought his tickets, he was right up front. Even though I orderded my tickets weeks before him. Ticketmaster needs to be taken in. They pretty much have a monopoly.

This happens with me a lot. If you don't get the tickets you want when they go on sale, keep checking back often to see what's available. Eventually good seats open up, sometimes days before the event. It's like Ticketmaster holds back some of the better seats for whatever reason.
