Red face Audio suggestions

I'm buying the H/K 254 amp which has 50W perchannel and my room is 12' by 20' with the TV at long end. To go along with it I'm thinking of upgrading my 8 year old cerwin vegas to another 5.1 set of either PSB's Polk or Klipsh under $2000. I want to keep the drivers in the 5 to 6" range.
Does anyone have any suggestions between these spkr choices ( I know the Klipsch will probably be 2 much). Which set will give me the most bang for the buck. These will mainly be for movies.
Thanks

Because your receiver is only 50 w/p/c, I would find out which of the speaker brands you are looking at are the most efficient in terms of output. I used to have a pair of Klipsch Hersesy II 's (back in the day) and they were very efficient (i.e...didn't take a lot of power to drive them). I'm not familiar enough with PSB and Polk (as I've personally never considered them for myself), but they could be good choices. A lot of people on here seem to like all 3 brands.

Good luck and I'm sure you'll find something that matches your amp just so!

An update... i"ve decided to go with the Denon 988 7.1 100 W per channel amp instead and a Klipsch RPW 10 sub for now with more to come in the future.
Any comments on these items so far????

Dude You live in Toronto,CA. ????

If so you have an enormous amount of A/V stores just waiting for you to visit them. One with really nice people but is under renovation on Industrial st. (Audio Design Group) they won't be done for a month or two but still....... call them and see what's up.

I think you should listen to some gear before upgrading. Reason being You aren't really making much of an upgrade in terms of speakers unless you are considering the better models from Klipsch and Polk.

Go check out Revel Concerta series and the Dali Ikon series. Both are reasonably priced and in your area.

HK receivers are more honest about power ratings so when considering receivers look for a power consumption rating.

Do yourself a favor and go look and listen. I would trade locations with you any day I LOVE TORONTO.

Honestly you wouldn't know until you put it into action. However I would say it is not going to be worth it. A subs job is an easy one and I really think you owe it to yourself to go and find the sound you are looking for. Cost is a concern to everyone but don't limit yourself to just the most well known brands. Although keep them on your list. Experience what is out there you will make a much more informed decision and you'll find out what you do not want.

If it were me the sub would be further down on the list of upgrades. Again just me but I would decide on the sub based on what speakers you get. That way you blend in the sub with the speakers and not the speakers around the sub. Take a little time and audition speakers you would be surprised.

I think the Denon is a great choice! As far as changing your sub is concerned, I personally wouldn't. Keep your CV sub and look for some FRONT Speakers first. If you like Klipsch, they are available just about everywhere in the GTA and are usually on-sale several times a year from the big box stores, like FS and BB. Don't be in a hurry, plan this thing out....and you'll be rewarded with great sound in the end.

That's a good point. The priority is a new amp for the new codecs. I'll see how the spkrs sound with that first and then decide to go ahead or maybe hold off until I have more coin for the spkrs.
Thx for the comments guys.

They don't have any stores that I'm aware of. Shipping only.
