Honestly you wouldn't know until you put it into action. However I would say it is not going to be worth it. A subs job is an easy one and I really think you owe it to yourself to go and find the sound you are looking for. Cost is a concern to everyone but don't limit yourself to just the most well known brands. Although keep them on your list. Experience what is out there you will make a much more informed decision and you'll find out what you do not want.

If it were me the sub would be further down on the list of upgrades. Again just me but I would decide on the sub based on what speakers you get. That way you blend in the sub with the speakers and not the speakers around the sub. Take a little time and audition speakers you would be surprised.
