Default COD4 Display Setting Problem

Hello eveyone and thanks for always being so helpful.. Just wanted to know if anyone has a problem with the game playing 1080P... Seems that the only way i can get the game to 1080p is to manually change the settings on my ps3 to just 1080p eveytime i play.. For some reason its not registering the highest resolution only 720p .. All my other games play at there optimal viewing level. anyone know the reason why? i have a sony xbr3

It automatically defaults to 720p. What you are doing is the only way to get it to go to 1080p. It's like this on everyones COD4.

Yep. It's a bit of a glitch. Have any of you noticed any visual or performance differences between 720p and 1080p? I always flip over to 1080p, so I was just curious about the difference.

That will all depend on the size of your screen and how far away you view it.

So how do you change it to 1080p? In PS3 you uncheck 720p and leave only 1080P?

Uncheck 720 and 1080i and leave 1080p checked.

There is a visual performance with 1080p IF you have a large screen or have good eyes. I notice it looks better on 1080p on my TV.

I wouldn't mind seeing a check box that says "Run at highest resolution possible".

Thanks, I'll try that now. But what happens when I pop in a game like DMC4, only run at 720p? Does it not work or something? Like if I forget to go back and change settings for every game.

It will most likely output as 480. you will see the difference immediately and know to go back and switch it. annoying, yes!

GTA IV has this problem as well. I usually just leave it in 720p because I'm tired of switching the settings between watching movies and playing games. I hope they fix this soon as well, really annoying.
