Can't keep the cat away from my receiver! - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys,

I need some tips as to what I could put down on the top of and possibly around the receiver that won't make it overheat. The cat has officially chosen it as her throne. I don't mind if she sits on it but I know it can be bad if the hair falls down into it.

You might try a scat mat strip or two.

....but you may can possibly try to lace it with crushed cayan pepper / pepper spray type stuff. Obviously you dont want your receiver to smell like a burrito but maybe a dab here or there would be enough to keep her/him/it away.

* its 1am and yes ive had a drink or two lol so ummm yea g'luck...x

Take scotch tape and roll it into a circle with the sticky part on the outside. Put a bunch of these on the receiver. Cats don't like this very well.

Or use a very thin blanket if you still want the cat to sit on the warm reciever.

No pics available, but cats freak out when they feel the tape stuck to their feet. They don't like this at all. It works well. Just let it do it's thing and the cat will not be back.

I may buy one of those mats in the future but for now I suppose i'll just drape a very thin blanket over it as per suggested. I don't mind if shes up on it but if it's either her comfort or my receiver shitting on me... well. She also sits on the cable box, however I don't even watch it or care about my shitty cable so she can have it to her hearts content.

Edit: Im going to roll up some tape and put it around the back of the TV... cut the access route!

Don't sound like a problem to me.

EDIT: My roommate just suggested that you shave the *****. No problems after that!!!
