Default Looks my cat has asthma

Well, we noticed yesterday morning that our 16 month old cat seemed to be having an issue with constant Abdominal breathing. We watched him for 24 hours being that he wasn't showing any other symptoms of nastiness and then took him to the Vet today. Vet X-rayed and took a look and we're pretty darn sure it's Asthma. No heart issues showed up, no fluid in the lungs/chest, but the brachial filaments are a bit inflamed. Doc said it looked like a "textbook case" according to the X-rays. So we gots him a steroid shot and we'll hopefully see in a couple of hours or so (most likely) if it is Asthma. Dang, it all happens at once. I got laid off a while ago, we just put down the money for a new house a few days ago then this (vet bills suck). Well Thank God that it was still within budget.

Thanks guys, looks like it IS asthma. The steroid worked like a charm and he's back to normal in only 4 hours. Looks like I can go in to the Vet on Tuesday and get the Heavy duty one that should last him months. Poor baby is acting much better now that he can breathe.

At least it's something that's easily managed. I'm glad to hear he's back on his feet again.

Anyways glad to hear your cat is feeling better O.P. . Vet bills do suck especially if its an after hours emergency.
