Default Simpsons vs. Futurama

Even though Futurama is more intelligent, has better animation and more emotion, nothing beats The Simpsons.

The Simpsons:

Season 1 - A - less sophisticated but really really good
Season 2 - A- - better humour but worse animation quality and very slow pacing
Season 3 - A+ - perfect
Season 4 - A+ - the show was basically at its pinnacle during this fantastic season
Season 5 - A+ - is much wackier and sillier, but also has better animation and some of my favourite episodes
Season 6 - A+ - my favourite season ever. The funniest season in history.
Season 7 - A+ - combines the emotion of earlier seasons with the trademark Simpsons humour of previous seasons. Possibly the best season.
Season 8 - B - consistently is of lesser quality than everything previous, with quite a few bad episodes
Season 9 - A - surprisingly much better than season 8
Season 10 - B - some great episodes, some terrible
Season 11 - D- - the show's lowest point. Literally only 2 or maybe 3 good episodes, the rest are awful
Season 12 - C- - mostly mediocre, with an occasionally good episode
Season 13 - C- - same as season 12, except even more different as a show
Season 14 - C+ - has some classic humour from earlier seasons, but also some terrible aspects
Season 15 - B+ - a welcome return to greatness. Has some really great episodes, can't wait for a BD release
Season 16 - B - has some of the best P-C episodes ever, as well as some weak episodes
Season 17 - B- - the same as Season 16, except only good episodes and weak episodes
Season 18 - D - has mostly terrible episodes, only few okay episodes
Season 19 - D - very inconsistent season, with few enjoyable episodes

Okay, so I'm one of the biggest fans...

Futurama:

Season 1 - A- - is so different from the later stuff, but still good
Season 2 - B+ - most comprised of mediocre episodes and few great episodes
Season 3 - A- - the same as Season 4, except has hardly any of the best episodes ever but most episodes are good
Season 4 - A+ - the best season. Has the best episodes in Futurama history.

Not prepared to vote as I love them equally, was really bummed when season 4 was annouced as the las season of futurama. But was delighted when they announced the feature legnth dvds - just wished they were out on Blu.

If you listen on the commentary for Benders big score, they do say that the movie will be on blu later this year.

If this was a poll for like simpsons up to like season 8 or so vs Futurama as a whole I think the simpsons would edge it out but comparing them now it is Futurama. I rarely get a laugh out of the Simpsons now but Futurama, it is everything the simpsons should be now. I absolutely hated teh simpsons movie, but the futurama movie is pure gold. I hope the next one is as great too. And also as soon as they are blu it is a must purchase on the Futurama movies, I will not buy the simpsons movies.

Futurama has some of the most inventive and dare I say touching endings to their episodes and they have certain jokes in there that just make me laugh uncontollably, but the Simpsons is the Simpsons. That's what I voted for.

Simpsons ftw. It has declined a bit, but until Futurama is around for 18 seasons or so, there is no comparison

I am going to have to say futurama. Just bceause it has 0 episodes that are bad. not a single episode that i would skip over watching again because they are all amazing. Also some of the best humor ever and the best characters. Futurama and South Park are my 2 favorite shows of all time.

It's interesting. It seems like the EXACT point where The Simpsons declined (Season 10, 1999) was around about the same time Futurama and Family Guy were created.
