Default How Many People Do You Know That Can't See The Difference?

How many people in your family or friends, still tell you they can't tell the difference between DVD and Blu-Ray. Both my mother and sister are clueless and I am the only one that can see the difference on a 32' Sanyo HDTV hooked up with my ps3. I have put on several different movies on blu-ray and no one in my house can tell the difference. At least my sister knows the ones in the blue cases won't play on her DVD player so I don't have to worry about her taking my blu-ray movies lol

Anyone else have a hard time demonstrating to your family and friends the difference?

Dude I recommend you to buy a bigger TV, as the diffrence would be even more apparent.

Your 32 inch set could be the reason, why your family can't see a diffrence

Depends what i show them, HDTV (i have comcast so i get terrible HD barely looks better then SD they really cant see the difference) if i show them BR films almost immediately everyone sees the difference except my mom but then again i don't believe she has ever seen a DVD, she watches american idol and a few other things on TV but as far as watching movies nope she really doesn't see the difference, she sees that it is much more clearer but isn't like but like i said she doesn't watch movies she doesn't really care for it

my niece however absolutely LOVES blu-ray my sister works alot so i pick her up from school and she stays at my apartment alot and is hooked on the thing, she watches my tv more then i do but i did give her a 32" for xmas for her wii and xbox i plan on getting her a ps3 slim and a few blu-rays for her birthday, always trying to convert people and i like to spoil her since i can't have kids of my own

A few.

As an example of one of them: I was at my neighbor's house watching a movie with him and his wife and I had to point out to him how bad is TV panel was. He owns a 50" LCD and more then 2/3 of the panel had a bright yellow blotch weaving through it.

He had never noticed it until I pointed it out. If he could not see that yellow blotch on his TV, how would he have ever noticed any difference between his TV and mine??

By the way TV experts: What would cause a yellow blotch throughout most of his panel???

I think size matters here
I had a 42" TV and felt many a time that BD was not all that it was touted to be... especially since I had a good Oppo up-conversion player that did the job well. But ever since I bought a near 60" TV, the difference is mind-blowing! My wife and I can truly appreciate the difference...

I don't think size does matter because i have a 42" and after properly calibrating it it looks amazing, ive seen 42's that look better then 55+

although my aunts 55" samsung LED is and its got factory settings im supposed to calibrate it for her tomorrow

I bought my mom a 32" Sharp LCD two years ago. I made sure to hook up an HD connection for her and she has a cable box with like 75+ HD channels. Anytime I go to visit she is watching TV on a non-HD channel when that same program is also on an HD channel. It drives me nuts that she doesn't pay attention. She's only 50 and can see fine. Maybe she doesn't realize the difference because she rarely watches TV without doing something else at the same time.

Most people I know seem to be in that boat. Oh well, if someone can't really tell the difference I guess it's not the worst thing in th world. It keeps them from spending thousands of dollars on the expensive hobby of home theatre upgrades.

Not many people will or care about the difference between blu ray and dvd on a tv, they will think you are egotistic...

that is until you have a projector with a really big screen , then you can and care about the difference.

i would love to have a projector but i don't have the room in my crappy apartment, i barely have room for a 42" lcd i wanna get a 46" soon as i move but on down the road when i can afford to get a house im defiantly getting a projector and a nice sound system till then i gotta suck it up and use headphones
