Default My Personal Wants and Dont wants on Blu-ray

Hey,

I'm a new blu-ray owner. I currently run my blu-rays on a 20gb PS3 that I got for $100 because the HDD was bad. I fixed that and now I have a functional Blu-ray player/video game console. The sad thing is I still only have a 20in SDTV. I now have a very large collection of 6 movies

-The Patriot: Extended Cut
-The Fifth Element (Re-release)
-Spiderman 3
-Blade Runner (5 disc set)
-Meet the Spartans
-Rambo (Part 4)

I have a (incomplete) list of films I do and don't want to see on blu-ray.

Do's
-Star Trek (films Set)
The Star Trek movies have allways been a cinematic wonder to behold. The DVD releases barely did them Justice, except for TMP which the DVD version was just better than any other version to date. Seeing the Enterprise in HD would be awesome.

-Battle Royale
This movie is a heart warming tale of kids being forced to kill one another. Perhaps on Blu-ray this film could get an official US release. You could fit both versions of it on a Dual-Layer Blu-ray and still be HD.

-Friday the 13th
People allways complain about this movie. I feel that this is one of the better tales of revenge from the 1980's. I imagine they could release the uncut version which previously was only available in Japan on Laserdisc.

-Audition
If you haven't seen it, go see it.

-Blue Sunshine
What a weird 70's Horror movie about LSD. This film never got a DVD release and I would like to be able to watch the movie and not worry about the tape getting eaten.

-Sleepaway Camp
1983 horror film. The DVD release of this movie was sub par and edited heavily. If they can restore the uncut version on Blu-ray it would be grand.

Dont Want
-Evil Dead
This movie's charm comes from the grainy picture. Also with a 1080 resolution, you would beable to see the mat lines and other things. This problem is already evident on the DVD release.

No Evil Dead??? Sacrilege! I know what you mean via the exposed effects, but that's almost part of the charm at this point.

Here are my personal wants. Others such as "Top Gun", "Starship Troopers", and "Lost Boys" have been announced and bring a smile to my face.

Aliens - One of the best sci-fi/action/horror films of all time. Easily the best of the series.

Big - One of my favorite Tom Hanks movies. Loved this Penny Marshall film as a kid....still do!

Conan The Barbarian - Schwarzenegger is raw, the story epic and the movie score awesome!!!

Desperado - Entertaining, sexy, action movie with the ever smoking Salma Hayek in 1080P!!!!

Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story - Love this....absolutely love this film. It has so much heart and is very inspiring. Based on the life of the legendary Bruce Lee, an amazing human being, it is spectacular complete with one of the best movie scores ever.

E.T. - Simply a modern day classic...

Gladiator - Witnessed it on TNTHD and was blown away...and that was cropped and not shown in OAR. This movie was made for Hi-Def!!!

Karate Kid - Sentimental favorite. Just love it! Wax on... wax off. Wax on... wax off.

Jerry Maguire - Cuban Gooding Jr. steals the show in the great sports movie. Show me the money!!!!!

Jurassic Park - Another Spielberg masterpiece with a sound that was made for PCM!!!

King Kong - The beauty, the beast... Heard nothing but goods things about it in HDDVD, so bring it on to Blu!!!!!

A League Of Their Own - Another sentimental favorite, another Penny Marshall film. Play ball girls!

Mask Of Zorro - Easily best version ever of Zorro. 1st class score, costumes, action, acting, etc.

Message In A Bottle - Based on the great novel by Nicholas Sparks, this is a beautiful romantic movie.

Léon aka The Professional - Natalie Portman's brillant debut in this intense action movie. Another great performance from Gary Oldman.

Rocky IV - IMHO the best movie of the series. Rocky vs Drago "Whatever he hits, he destroys" for NO money or title on the line. Man vs man. Great movie.

Saving Private Ryan – Unforgettable opening scene on the beach.

Shrek 2 – The best of the trilogy.

Splash - John Candy and Tom Hanks are great in this movie. Did I mention Darryl Hannah was smoking hot. [See the Statue Of Liberty scene.] Almost seems this movie single handedly was responsible for the soaring popularity of the name "Madison" for girls.

Star Wars IV, V, VIMay the force be with you.

Titanic – Wife never gets tired of this one. Ok, I dig it too.

Young Guns 2Yoo hoo! I’ll make you famous. Fun movie, and I’m not even a fan of Westerns.

I don't really have any don't wants on Blu-Ray. One man's trash is another..... So, any thing that will promote people buying Blu-Rays is cool with me.

UPDATED LIST

Do's
Escanaba in Da Moonlight. The DVD release was SHIT. The PQ was that of VHS and the sound was just ok. What do you expect for $5? I wanna see this looking good.

Dont Be A Menace in South Central While Drinking your Juice in the Hood. Funny Wayans Bros Movie, needs a good release.

Teen Wolf. This was one of my favorite movies when we had CEDs in the house. I got the Duel Sided (Teen Wolf/Teen Wolf Too) Pack and the PQ is ok. I think this movie should see an HD release.

Born in East LA. I was unable to find this film on DVD and its a very good Cheech Marin movie about deportation.

The Heavenly Kid. This movie did have a DVD release but it was Sub Par. All it was was Bare Bones (not even a Theatrical Trailer) but the PQ was defiantly an improvement over the HBO VHS we had of this.

Highlander. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! This movie could used as a message to HD-DVD (There Can be Only ONE (HD FORMAT)) Also I like this movie. They could stick both the Director's Cut and the Theatrical Version on the disc.

Stripes. The Extended Cut version of this movie was a great DVD. It was almost perfect except...when an inserted scene starts it brings up a message to tell you. Bring this to Blu-ray and GET RID OF THOSE MESSAGES!

Suburban Commando. Christopher Lloyd and Huck Hogan beating up mimes, Early 1990's GOLD.

Critters. Little alien furballs that are hungry like Pirrannas that attack a Kansas farm. Good fun.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail.. Make the Knights of Ni proud with a full HD release where we can see the Black Night fight in awesome PQ.
