Default Is Blu-ray a personal revenge vendetta for Sony?
It's no secret that the Sony-Phillips team have a lot of pride in their track record in creating ground-breaking consumer products like the conventional audio CD back in the 80's. In the early 90's you had the DVD format battle which led to Sony having to concede to Toshiba on the standard for DVD's. You could tell how ticked off Sony was back then and still are. I can't help, but feel Sony is pushing the blu-ray format in hopes of some vindication and restoration of their reputation as the top dog. I don't know. I'm interested to see what everyone's thoughts on this are.
