Default Question for parents

This question is for parents. Because I have a child on the way.

What will you do when a new animation or family movies comes outs:

1. Buy a BD for yourself/family to watch in your home theater
2. Buy only the DVD for your children to watch in their rooms or portable dvd player
3. Buy both BD and DVD disc
4. Buy a BD player for their rooms (if you do this: what about portable players for long road trips)
5. Hope for a BD/DVD combo disc

Blu-ray only. They don't have any kind of TV in their rooms.

All our other rooms that have TVs have Blu-ray players on them.

So it's a non-issue.

Way to try and reword your other thread to try and get your point across.

I have plenty of animation movies on DVD that they will not get tired of for time enough to get a BD player or whatever the newest technology in their rooms. They won't even need a TV in there room for a while. (Even though the room my child will be in already has a TV and a DVD player because it's currently and office.)

People that need babysitting movies for their kids can get plenty in the sub-$10 range at Walmart no problem.

You think I have change after that?

Sammy in the living, PS3 in the home theater room and the Panny in my office.

No TV or DVD in kids' room. Rent animation/kids movies on DVD for long trips. So, if I buy animation BD, its for the kids and parents.

Dude, this is not another combo thread. I'm trying to get peoples opinion so that I know what the best way to handle this. Some people need to chill out.

And my son will be out playing, believe me. But, he should be able to relax and watch a movie just like everyone else.

I wish I can use this solution. It would probably cheaper to buy extra DVD's than to have BD players in every room though....at least for now.

How often would you expect different movies to be playing at the same time?

It's fairly easy to send the SD signals from a BD player to another SDTV somewhere in the house. There are a lot of wireless solutions.

I would seem expensive to consider multiple BD players at this point. A child on the way wouldn't be a PS/3 candidate.

I would think the combination of some cheap kids titles on a cheap DVD player and some transmitted family titles (shared in the HT room, and elsewhere), would be your best bet.

BD/DVD combos are unlikely, unless those come out of Warner's Total HD push. The BD studios didn't find enough interest for them. And the HD DVD consumer hate their's.

I couldn't subject my children (or any children) the pain of low definition movies if I had movie quality versions for them to watch. If they have my DNA, having them watch Ben Hur on DVD would be cruel and unusual punishment!

LOL... Instead of taking away the TV, just take away the HD... That would be hilarity at its finest.
